PURPOSE/MISSION

The Risk Management Division is responsible for risk management in research activities, including Export Control, ABS compliance with the Nagoya Protocol, conflict of interest management, research ethics education and management, and economic security.

Nagasaki University conducts research ethics education using the e-learning program of Association for the Promotion of Research Integrity (APRIN) and confirms the status of participation and grade management at each faculty.

The University provides guidance and advice to researchers on the appropriate management of conflicts of interest to ensure that they receive appropriate benefits over the course of their industry–academia-government collaboration activities.

The University follows procedures and public awareness activities related to ABS, which is required when conducting research and development using overseas genetic resources.

We conducted surveys on the pros and cons of the research related to dual-use at universities and the trends at each individual university in relation to such research.
