METI announces amendment of Export Control Law (Effective on July 21, 2023 )
The Republic of Korea will be added to the countries listed in Appended Table 3 of the Export Control Law as of July 21, 2023 (Friday).
Along with the revision of the Export Control Law, the related notices will also be amended.
Consequently, the general export permission will be applicable to exports to the Republic of Korea,
and exports to the Republic of Korea will no longer be subject to the catch-all restrictions.

METI announces that 23 items of semiconductor manufacturing equipment have
been newly added to the Export Control Items.( Issued on May 23, 2023, and Effective on July 23, 2023 )
To make high-performance semiconductor manufacturing equipment subject
to export control, 23 items of semiconductor manufacturing equipment were newly added to the
export control items. The new items include "cleaning (3 items)," "deposition
(11 items)," "annealing (heat treatment) (1 item)," "lithography
(exposure) (4 items)," "etching (chemical removal) (3 items),"
and "inspection (1 item). Technology (including programs) necessary
for the design or manufacture of the newly added items is also subject
to export control.
